Hot-dip galvanized communication towers serve as critical infrastructure for wireless communication networks. Material selection directly determines the tower's wind resistance, corrosion resistance and overall service life. The main body of communication towers generally adopts Q235, Q355 and Q420 series carbon structural steel. The tower frame is assembled by profiles such as angle steel and steel tubes, with 8.8-grade high-strength galvanized bolts for modular assembly, suitable for engineering requirements of heights ranging from 10 m to 180 m.

All steel materials are treated by hot-dip galvanizing, with a zinc coating thickness of no less than 86μm. The zinc coating forms a metallurgical bond with steel, resisting corrosion through dual mechanisms of barrier protection and sacrificial anode. Even if local scratches or damage occur on the zinc layer, zinc will corrode preferentially to protect the internal steel substrate. A service life of over 30 years can be achieved under normal working conditions. For high salt-spray and high-humidity areas such as coastal regions in Southeast Asia, the zinc coating can be thickened and waterproof sealing joints can be equipped to upgrade the corrosion protection level.

In addition to the main steel structure, the tower is fitted with auxiliary materials including concrete foundations, lightning protection components and insulators. Concrete foundations bear the overall load and ensure the tower's stability against earthquakes and strong winds; insulators isolate the tower from communication equipment to prevent electric leakage risks.

This type of steel features good fabrication malleability. Prefabricated components manufactured in factories can be transported to sites for bolt assembly without extensive on-site welding, greatly improving construction efficiency. Meanwhile, the material is recyclable and boasts better comprehensive cost performance than special steel such as stainless steel. It is widely applied in 4G/5G base stations, microwave transmission, meteorological monitoring and other projects, adapting to various complex site environments including countryside, mountainous areas and coastlines.
